This is the time of year that all boaters and fishermen have the opportunity to see everything ‘under one roof’! This annual show gets bigger and better every year with vendors that represent virtually every product available to support our SW Floridian ‘lifestyle’. Furniture, fixtures, fishing equipment, marine cleaning products and marine electronics, boat insurance together with a huge display(s) of boats of all types and from the dealers and their manufactures that sell and service our area, saving all attendees the time of driving to hundreds of different locations to find what they want.
1st Mate Vicki and I have attended and worked this show for the last decade and still enjoy browsing other vendors booths, the boat dealers display(s) and learning of new products and innovations. As always, Vicki or I will be on hand at Fish Face Charters Booth (next to Coastal Angler Magazine) to meet and greet old and new clients alike. Looking forward to share our fishing story’s along with pictures of big ‘catches’, while answering questions and concerns regarding equipment or most anything related to fishing and boating.
As always, I will be doing three (3) one and one half (1 ½) hour seminars each day covering inshore, offshore and Tarpon techniques in an effort to assist ‘new-bees’ to the sport, intermediate and advanced anglers alike. Each topic is roughly one half (1/2) hour each. The topics are extensive and include suggestions on types of equipment, equipment ‘set-up’, knot tying and baits, so that your time on the water is not wasted. The seminars will provide the knowledge to catch lots of fish, with the chance of one or more being a ‘fish of a lifetime’.
Fishing has been good despite some of the negative news publicity. The weather plays the dominant role in what and where one catches fish. The rivers have been good as well as many locations on the grass flats of Pine Island Sound for Seatrouts, Ladyfish a few Pompano and Spanish Mackerel. Look to have success under the docks and seawalls for Sheepshead, Black Drum, Snook and Redfish. Offshore, the bite is good. The farther out one ventures, the bigger fish anglers are likely to catch.
This is Captain Terry Fisher of Fish Face Charters looking forward to seeing everyone at the 2023 Bonita Boat Show, located at the ‘Ole Grey Hound Race Track’ on Immokalee Road in Bonita Springs this coming week and weekend for 4 great days, March 2, 3 4 and 5!
