INSHORE; fishing should be good over the next couple of months, especially for Redfish and Snook. The ‘BULL’ Redfish should continue to move in during these hot months and remain throughout September. I know that a lot of anglers prefer Pilchards, but for Redfish I recommend large shrimps, quartered Blue Crabs, cut Pinfish and cut Ladyfish. January fishing has been fairly good when the temperatures allow one to go out. However, this year both cold weather and high winds have forced a lot of people to cancel or postpone boating and fishing trips. Red Tide has also affected the bite both offshore and inshore. It takes courage to join the any military branch that may require one to put their ‘life on the line’ at a moment’s notice and be transferred to domestic or foreign ports, leaving their families and friends behind, not knowing if they will return.
