Before you see what’s biting, I invite you to join me at the Bonita Springs boat show that runs Thursday, March 4 through Sunday, March 7. This wonderful show features a number of vendors offering the finest in products and expert guidance for all of your boating and fishing needs. I will be on hand to deliver a number of free fishing seminars each day for both onshore and offshore adventures, and I’ll provide updates and personalized instructions on where, when and how to catch fish!

Fishing has remained good offshore for Grouper, Mangrove, Snappers, Porgy’s, Grunts and Trigger Fish. Pictured is Tim McGrath of Ft. Myers with a nice Red Grouper during a trip forty miles offshore on his new 28ft. Regulator. His friend Steve is pictured holding his Red Grouper. Looking forward to another run Tim, as the ‘bite is on’!

Inshore offers a number of great opportunities as well. Gary Carlson of Idaho is holding a nice Sheepshead he landed early February. Gary and his wife, Pat are wonderful people and a spending some of the winter months on Pine Island. Gary has been a guide in Alaska. He is an excellent fly fisherman and loves the water. Looking forward to going out with him and Pat soon, before they depart for the Canadian Border.

Other inshore adventures included my friend and client, Bill LaPorte of Ft. Myers with his buddies from Michigan.  They are pictured with one of their 100 plus fish catches of the day. I believe I enjoyed the trip more than they. Wonderful, fun and delightful group. SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR!

Fishing should continue to improve as springtime develops. Migrating Tarpon, Spanish Mackerel, Permit and Cobia all on the way.
