The Corona Virus Pandemic has not stopped 1st Mate Vicki and I or others from enjoying the beautiful waters all around the State of Florida. The demand for boats, accessories and fishing equipment for recreation is at an all time high allowing our marine industry to introduce the ‘Wonderful World of Boating and Fishing’ to a larger client base. If one does not believe it, just go looking for boats, rods, reels and other accessories and they will find inventories at low levels.

Captain Terry on 4th of July Terry with clients and their Mahi Mahi catches

Vicki and I had the privilege over the 4th of July Holiday to meet up with some clients in Key West to enjoy catching some offshore species such as Dolphin, (Mahi Mahi/Dorado) about 20 miles offshore. We also took a day to fish the Marquesas Key for Yellow Tale Snapper and Permit. Pictured is our boat decorated for the 4th of July as we headed to a sand bar to enjoy the day swimming and cooking hot dogs and hamburgers.

Pictured is Ron Defreitas and I with some of the kids we took fishing on the three boats in our small fleet. We had a big day catching Dolphin.

Closer to home I had privilege of taking long-time client and friend, Jim Ross of Cape Coral fishing with his grandson Matt, daughter, Staci and son-in-law Gregg Vagner of Austin, Texas out for some Redfish. Everyone got in on the action and the family is pictured with one of their many catches. Unfortunately, my friend Jim (an avid fisherman and expert angler in his own right) suffered from a catfish sting toward the end of the day. I am happy to report that he survived.

It is truly a ‘Small World’, as I also discovered during the trip with Jim Ross and his family that their daughter is attending Baylor University (Staci and Gregg’s Alma Mater), the same university that my granddaughter, Haley is attending this year and they are both in the same dormitory. Looking forward to them developing a friendship.

Even though Vicki and I live in SW Florida, it is an easy drive across Alligator Alley (I-75) to other Florida areas to boat and fish). Larger boats may simply ‘set sail’ for Key West as it is a short run from SW Florida. We love to trailer over to the east coast to fish the Atlantic from time to time.

This is Captain Terry Fisher of Fish Face Charters LLC wishing everyone safe boating and fun catching. I am available as ‘Captain for Hire’ on private vessels (by the hour) to assist with safety, navigation, handling of boats, fishing techniques and locations, so one always catches fish!
