Cape Coral Cruise Club Aquamarine Palm Harbour Cruise, May 22-14, 2018

By Elise Lynch

Cruising in Southwest Florida is fun, but not without its’ surprises.  We had ordered “Chamber of Commerce” weather and received about 50% of our request.  Under soggy skies, eight boaters from the Cape Coral Cruise Club ventured up the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway for our May cruise to Aquamarine Palm Harbor.  Mike & Brenda Stewart, Len & Reta Grassini and cruise leaders Jon & Elise Lynch arrived by land yacht.  Boaters included Lee & Brenda Jetton, Joe & Kelli Miller, Pete & Donna Oiderma, and, last but not least, Tal & Kathie Leonard.  This may be one of the very few times that a CCCC cruise was led by landlubbers.

Cruise Club returns to secluded Useppa Island

By Terry and Laurie Carlson

Wednesday morning the 8th of November the marina staff at Useppa Island greeted the Cape Coral Cruise Club arriving boaters with both sunshine and calm seas for a wonderful cruise arrival. Eleven boats arrived at the Marina and were carefully nestled into their slips by the attentive Useppa marina staff. Cruise leaders Rich and Robyn McGloin greeted arriving members and assured a relaxing stay at one of the premier private islands in the area. Wednesday afternoon provided plenty of relaxing leisure time to explore the island along the winding, lush botanical trails. Some decided to lounge by the pool, walk the beaches or visit the historic Useppa Island museum.

April 2017 Cruise to Fisherman’s Village

It was great!  We had a final count of seven boats who found their way to Fisherman’s Village via the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway for our April 18-21, 2017, cruise. Three boats came all the way from Burnt Store Isles in Punta Gorda! In total, ten boats arrived after braving Charlotte Harbor on a somewhat windy day. We all made it safely and settled in for a fun-filled, three-day adventure.

Cape Coral Cruise Club returns to MARINA JACK, Sarasota

By Joe Vizzini

A number of Cape Coral Cruise Club boats got an early start on this cruise by first stopping at either Palm Island or Venice marinas on Monday March 20th. Weather was “picture-perfect” for boating, and dolphins abounded in the GICW. The Venice boaters were able to explore the interesting sites in town, and partake of some of its good restaurant offerings.

PINK SHELL CRUISE FEBRUARY 21– 24, 2017

– By Captain John Queen, Past Commodore, Cape Coral Cruise Club

The Cape Coral Cruise Club has monthly cruises to a variety of destinations in SW Florida. For the month of February 2017, that destination was the popular Pink Shell Resort and Marina on Fort Myers Beach. There was a good turnout with 17 club boats that made the trip ranging in size from 30 to 50 feet. Most of the boats arrived Tuesday, February 21st with fairly decent weather on their bow. Many boats waited until slack tide before arriving, as past experience knows, it is tricky trying to dock at Pink Shell in strong tidal currents. Since my wife Pati and I were the cruise leaders for this event, we were one of the first boats to arrive.  We slid “Semper Paratus” into slip 20 around 10:30 AM just as inbound current was subsiding.  Dockmaster Dave and his sidekick Craig did an excellent job in getting us and all other boats safely into assigned slips.
