(Ft. Myers Beach to Charlotte Harbor)

Christmas and the New Year Holiday brought good weather and lots of opportunities to accommodate a number of charter requests from locals and visitors alike. Fishing was ‘spotty’ during the Christmas break but still produced a number of great trips with sufficient catches of Grouper, Seatrout, Mangrove Snapper and Spanish Mackerel to satisfy most.

Prior to Christmas I have the opportunity to ‘Captain for Hire’ on the vessel of Mr. Ron Sorenson of Cape Coral to show him some fishing spots and techniques around the northern area of Pine Island Sound. His son Jakeb served as 1st Mate aboard the boat as we departed Pine Island Marina on the last Saturday before Christmas Eve. I met young Jakeb (7) and his father at my booth during the Ft. Myers Annual Boat Show at the Ft. Myers Convention Center. Jakeb, a really good ‘junior angler’, was looking forward the day when he was going fishing with Captain Terry to learn where and how to catch lots of fish. His teacher and classmates were aware of the fishing trip he was scheduled to take. Jakeb proved to be a great little angler with a desire to learn. He is pictured here with a big Gag Grouper, a Seatrout and Mangrove Snapper that he caught. These are just examples of the numerous fish he caught during his adventure. Great job Jakeb!

On Christmas Day, I took Paul Vander Wall of Spring Lake Michigan and his two daughters, Sage (10) and Regan (13), fishing on my new Pathfinder 23 HPS to locate spots and learn techniques for their week long stay with a rental boat on Cayo Costa. Sage is pictured with a Mangrove Snapper and Seatrout while Regan is holding one of her many catches of Christmas Day. I saw them later in the week while on another charter and they reported much success on their own. Congratulations and ‘Merry Christmas Memories’ Paul, Sage and Regan!

Another memorable ‘Holiday’ charter was with my repeat clients/friends, David and Joan Porter of Columbus, Ohio. It was my 2nd opportunity to take them fishing and I enjoyed every moment. David is pictured with a huge Seatrout. Their grandchildren are pictured with some of their catches. Sean (12) is holding one of many fish he caught for the day. His sister, Rose (10) is pictured helping Alaina (4) with her Seatrout. Rose is pictured with Captain Terry and a shark that she caught. Great job my ‘little’ anglers. Hope to see you again in the future!

2016 was a great year! Thanks to all that made it possible. My 1st Mate Vicki, 2nd Mate Moby ‘Dick’ and I wishing all a safe, prosperous and Happy New Year of 2017!
