(Ft. Myers Beach to Charlotte Harbor)
Early morning fishing (inshore and offshore) should be good over the next 10 days or so. We have a ‘New-Moon’ phase bringing in high water levels for the inshore anglers together with strong water currents that should enhance opportunities for offshore anglers as well.
Pictured here Brian Marsh and his son, Jacob (14) of Fredonia, Virginia each holding Redfish. They caught Snook in the ‘back country’ and Seatrout on the grass ‘flats’. Jacob proudly displays one of many Red Grouper he caught in Boca Grande Pass while on the all day, ‘Pro Series’ Charter with me during the last ‘New-Moon’ phase. Looking forward to doing it again next year!

TIP OF THE DAY: There are lots of nice size Mangrove Snapper and Grouper in the Passes. I use 3500 to 4000 series reels with 20lb test, a 3oz egg sinker to keep the bait down. Add a 2ft; 20 to 30lb. Fluorocarbon line below the egg sinker with a 1/0 circle hook and fish the drift keeping the bait just above the sea bed. Use shrimp or bait fish for good results.
Small sharks, Seatrouts, Spanish Mackerel and Jack Crevalle are on and around the grass flats. Pictured here is Kerry Frank of Mt. Pleasant, S. C. with her first shark. She is also pictured with junior angler, Tom Glennon (13), a friend of the family, with a large trout he caught on a shrimp presentation. Good job Kerry and Tommy!
