OK, well the bad news is no one has time to fish. We are cleaning yards, helping friends, or just getting back in the swing of life. But if your family and property are OK and you can manage a trip down Harbor, there are fish to be caught.

Redfish are on both the east and west sides. If you are in Port Charlotte we have live Shrimp at Fishin’ Franks, but some stores are still having trouble with supply. I hope that is better soon.

If you want to make it easy, use a D.O.A. Cal shad 304 or 404, which are brown colors. I would suggest if you need a Jig Head buy a Pack of Rockport Rattlers 1/4 once. Any color with a 1/0 hook. Rockport was ground zero for Harvey so they may be hard to find, but if you have some use them.

Another thought is for you Bass Fisherman. The Bass are nailing Drunk Baits right now, brown or white colors. The owner of Drunk Bait lost his house in Irma and because he had just bought it the week before the storm, had no Insurance. Here’s a chance to have some fun and help people in need at the same time.

By the way, the reds will hit better on the DOA but the Trout which are stronger in numbers on the east side like the Drunk Baits.
Good Luck out there and be safe.
