42nd Annual Fort Myers Boat Show

November 13-16, 2014

Widely considered the premier boat show on Florida’s west coast, the 42nd Annual Fort Myers Boat Show will feature boats of just about every type imaginable, marine products and services for both enthusiasts and novices alike. Now in its 42nd year, the show will include seminars on fishing and boat safety. Local guides will be on hand to answer questions and present instruction about fishing in Southwest Florida. The show will also include a large kayaking section with daily seminars, products displays, and information about Lee County’s Great Calusa Blueway paddling trails. The U.S. Coast Guard will return this year with their interactive boating safety trailer displaying a variety of safety equipment.

The Boat Show is located in downtown Fort Myers. The main entrance is at the corner of Bay Street and Dean Street. The show is spread out through the Harborside Event Center, along Edwards Drive and Centennial Park to The Fort Myers Yacht Basin.

Directions: From I-75, take Exit 138 (MLK Boulevard). Head west into downtown (about four miles). From U.S. 41: If you are coming from the south, watch for signs leading you into downtown just before crossing the river. From the north, take the first exit over the river and head east on 1st Street. Once in the downtown area, there are several cross streets, between Lee Street and Monroe Street, that lead to the show.

Boat Display

Show attendees can tour a large assortment of boat types both in, and out of the water. Visitors can check out luxury yachts and off-shore fishing boats, plus dinghies and kayaks. Resorts and marinas will also be on hand to help guests plan waterfront trips, and vendors will display the latest in boating accessories, electronics, marine financing and insurance, motors and fishing gear from manufacturers all over the world.

Affordable Boating

Be sure to visit the “You can Afford to Go Boating” Area in Centennial Park at the show. If you think you can’t afford to experience the finest boating waters in the country, you may want to stop by our special display of boats that you can own for $250.00 per month or less.  Boat financing is getting easier and there are a surprising variety of boats available to you. There will be no sales people so you can inspect the boats at your leisure.  Each boat will have a sign with all the necessary information and where you can go within the show to talk to a salesman should you wish.

You sure do not want to miss this area.  There will be a variety of seminars on fishing, boat safety and more.  There will be tackle displays and local guides will be on hand to answer your questions about fishing in Southwest Florida. There will be a kayaking Section, with daily seminars (including fishing from kayaks), products displays, and information about local trails will be featured.  You can throw a kayak on your boat and open up a whole new world of ways to enjoy the water. This is far more than just a display of boats.  We have the largest display of accessory items of any Boat Show on Florida’s west coast including displays of electronic equipment, motors, fishing equipment, accessories and other items from manufacturers all over the world.  Plus you will find a wide variety of service companies and educational information to help you get the most out of your time on the water.  And, with nautical clothing and gift items, this is a great chance to kick start your Christmas shopping for your family and friends who enjoy the boating lifestyle.

There are a wide variety of food and drinks available.  Inside is the new “Harborside Café” with food and drinks, relaxed seating and a couple of TV’s to catch weekend sports.  In Centennial Park is the popular “Everglades Barbecue” Tent.  The “Yacht Basin Concessions” overlook the beautiful new basin and features a variety of both seafood and traditional items. And right next door, the “Yacht Basin Pub” is a real crowd pleaser with cold beer, wine and cocktails.

Of course, there are are many restaurants within an easy walk of the show.  If you have not been in downtown Ft. Myers lately you will be surprised at how the area has come alive.

Boat Show Parking

  • There is limited on-site parking at Bay Street and Dean Street.
  • There is Valet Service available adjacent to the Show entrance for only $12.
  • There is a parking garage across the street from the show at Bay Street and Monroe Street.
  • There is parking under the U.S. 41 bridge, two blocks west of the show entrance.
  • There is parking in the Jackson Street Garage (Jackson and Main).  This is only two blocks from the show entrance at the Yacht Basin and Lee Street.
  • Over the weekend there is also plenty of street parking available throughout downtown.

The Fort Myers Boat Show is owned by the Southwest Florida Marine Industries Association.  The association, whose membership includes virtually every boat dealer and marine related company in Southwest Florida, has protected the rights of boaters and promoted boating and the marine industry in Southwest Florida for more than 40 years. The association also owns the BONITA SPRINGS BOAT SHOW, held at the Naples Ft. Myers Greyhound Track in March and the CHARLOTTE COUNTY BOAT SHOW, held at the Charlotte County Fairgrounds in January. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST AND WHERE CAN I ENTER THE SHOW?

Admission is $10.00 per person, with children under 16 free with paid adult admission. We do not have advance ticket sales. It is fast and convenient to buy tickets at the main show entrance (Bay Street and Dean Street) or at the Marina Entrance (Lee Street and Edwards Drive).

WHAT KIND OF BOATS WILL I FIND?

Visitors to the show can leisurely stroll along the docks and board everything from off-shore fishing boats to luxury yachts to dinghy’s to kayaks. There is no other show on Florida’s west coast with a more complete lineup of boats. In-water are both new and Brokerage boats. Indoors and outdoors are hundreds of trailerable boats of every style imaginable.

There will be a Boat Maintenance Area, manned by the Ft. Myers Institute of Technology Marine Instructors who can answer questions on motor repair, electronics, and just about every regular maintenance tasks you may be trying to tackle.
